When to visit Montenegro?
Montenegro takes on a different character across the seasons. From mid-May to late June, the Adriatic coast remains temperate, the Durmitor trails are clearing of snow, and Kotor's terraces haven't yet reached their summer crowds—this is arguably the most balanced window for a full circuit. July and August bring warm waters around Sveti Stefan and Budva, but require advance accommodation planning. The shoulder season, from September to mid-October, captivates with its soft light, harvests in the Crmnica valley, and migratory birds on Lake Skadar. Winter, more intimate, mainly appeals to ski enthusiasts at Žabljak and those seeking snow-draped monasteries.
